Hispanic General Studies

I was asked to sub in a class called 'General Studies'. In the classroom I could not find any lesson plan. I told the students that was not a problem because there were some things that they needed to know that I could teach them. I was informed by the students that they did not want to be taught anything. I said "OK", then you can teach me. I asked how many California driver's licenses their dads had. The higheset number was 17 and the average was just over 7. For the unemployed, each drivers licenses has been worth a months worth of food stamps for his family, medical care, and one vote. I assume each license has different combination of his many names. I also assume each license has an address in a different precinct. I believe it was Pelosi and either Boxer or Feinsteine that arranged for 12.5 million dollar grant around 2004 to help the undocumented. Rumor has it that the money was given to La Raza to buy houses and help the undocumented [and possibly some Mexican Nationals] get California Drivers Licenses. Indeed, in the last election I asked a poll worker about how many Spanish Ballots were received. She said it was a large pile and though she lived in the area, she had never heard of most of the names on the ballots. There are some who belive that extra food is being taken South across the Border to Tijjuana, Mexico and other border cities.

Both San Diego and Los Angeles Counties receive a large amount of Federal subsities to cover the large cost of care for the unemployed. Even San Francisco has a significant number of unemployed.

This is my opinion from the literature I have read and personal experiance.
