I have been interested in out environment for over 58 years. In 1963, while I was working on my BSEE, my school had a economy run. The winners would have the highest miles per gallon for their vehicle weight category. Since my old DeSoto was getting lousy millage, I had a friend put a lean jet in the carburetor. That cut fuel consumption almost in half. It then ran so lean, that all the hydrogen was burned, then all the carbon [as CO2], and even the lead was burned which turned my exhaust pipe a bright white inside. Yes, I did win in my category. I was very happy to have the very toxic tetra-ethyl lead banned from gasoline about a decade later. I was also happy to have strict limits on the emission of the very toxic CO. [carbon monoxide] CO destroys red blood cells so they never again can carry oxygen.
I am grateful for CO2. It is absolutely needed for the growth of plants. Without CO2 we would not have food. With the increase of CO2 over last couple of decades, the altitude of the "tree line" has increased. [Above the tree line, trees cannot grow for lack of CO2.] With more CO2, food plants grow faster and bigger.
When a person is seriously injured, they may end up in a hospital on oxygen. The oxygen will keep them alive, but an excess of oxygen will not allow the build-up of CO2 that is needed to activate breathing. People have spent days, weeks, months and even years uncouncious as a result. When it is believed they will never wake up, family says their good-byes and the oxygen is removed to let them die. But many times the CO2 build up will wake them up so they can breathe on their own. It is a high percentage of CO2 that causes us to breathe, not the lack of oxygen. This is taught to every military pilot. Many "soft-drinks" contain CO2 as a stimulant. Some doctors may use oxygen bottles with added CO2
The United States allows very toxic poisons to be sprayed on our food that are outlawed in almost every other country. Glyphosate, that used to be used for cleaning steam engine boilers, is now used to grow crops without essential minerals. [GMOs] Without chromium, insulin does not work. i.e. diabetes, cancer,
Alzheimer's, etc. Without cobalt, we cannot make B-12 to heal. We also need magnesium, iron and many other metal nutrients. The poison 2,4-D that was in Agent Orange that causes massive birth defects in Central Viet-Nam has now been added to "RoundUp" making our GMO food more toxic then ever. I was told that about 70% of the non-organic food in most grocery stores in the United States are thus poisoned. The result is children with lower IQ that tend to be more violent.
